MOURINHO RUES PLAYING IN SPAIN

Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has said that Real Madrid would have won the league in the team was playing in any other league than the Spanish. Real Madrid have been on an excellent run this season, but they have been stopped on a number of occasions by Barcelona.

As a result, Real Madrid currently have only three-point advantage over second placed Barcelona. Real Madrid manager José Mourinho reckons that it would take a superhuman effort to catch Real Madrid if the club was playing in a different League – Spanish or Italian, for example.

Barcelona will be returning to the league games after winning the Club World Cup in Japan. They defeated Brazil in club Santos 4-0 in the final to lift the trophy for the second time in two seasons. They are widely acknowledged to be the best team in the world, and it is one of the reasons why Real Madrid have not been able to win the League title since 2008. Many think that even though Real Madrid have the advantage right now, their advantage will not last long because Barcelona are too good to be held back in the second place. Further, there is still one match remaining between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the league.

"I'm too young to say whether they are the best because this sport has a very long history. There have been a lot of fantastic teams and I obviously don’t know all of them. However, they are a great team that at the moment are new world club champions. I congratulate them on that but I think it’s more important to win the Champions League,” José Mourinho said. Real Madrid currently have a three-point advantage over Barcelona after the Catalan team reduced the deficit by three points recently.
