RONALDO HAILS LA LIGA

Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the La Liga is the best league in the world right now.

The Portuguese winger has said that La Liga is the best league in the world because it allows its players to express themselves. The English Premier League was regarded as one of the best in the world, but the dominance of Barcelona in the European Champions League has changed the opinions of people a lot.

Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for a world record fee of £80 million. Even though he has been a huge hit in terms of the personal achievements, Barcelona still stand as the best team in Spain.

All the three players nominated for the FIFA Ballon d'Or award this year playing the Spanish League, while Cristiano Ronaldo remains as the top scorer in Spain with more than 20 goals so far this campaign.

Even though Premier League sides do well in the latter stages of the Champions League, they have not necessarily been known for producing the best football possible. That accolade is currently with Real Madrid and Barcelona, and Cristiano Ronaldo reckons that it may stay the same for quite some time. Meanwhile, the two Spanish clubs are now the joint favourites to win the Euorpean competition, according to the latest online Champions League odds.

The Spanish League currently has a number of stars like Iniesta, Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi, Lionel Messi, Kaka, and David Villa. However, English Premier League can boast only the likes of a few players like Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney.

"When I was at Manchester United, I learned the basic rules of football, especially the discipline of tackling, but La Liga is the best in the world because it is based on players' skills and technique," Ronaldo said when asked about the various leagues in the world. So far, Ronaldo has scored 25 goals in just 23 matches for Real Madrid.
