Arsenal boss Unai Emery speaks about Real Madrid midfielder amid loan talk

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has spoken positively about the attributes of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, who is on the cusp of joining the Gunners. The Spaniard has been with Los Blancos for the past two seasons but he has agreed to join the north London side on loan for the forthcoming campaign in the bid for regular gametime.

Speaking ahead of the Real Madrid friendly, Emery practically confirmed that the club are close to securing the signature of Ceballos, he said:"We are speaking about the possibility to sign one player. We have different names and the club is working on that. Ceballos is a very good player. I know him from [Real] Betis at the beginning and Real Madrid. He played very well in the Under-21s [for Spain], his national team won the [2019 European Championship] competition. He can play as a No. 8 or a No. 10."

The former Real Betis graduate has shown the versatility of playing in both the central and attacking midfield positionsd and he recently flourished at the Under-21 European Championship where he contributed two goals and two assists en route to Spain’s title success. As such, the Gunners seem on the cusp of a brilliant signing, although the young midfielder may only join the club f or 12 months.

According to reports, Los Blancos Zinedine Zidane is supposedly open to the prospect of sanctioning Ceballos’ sale this summer, but the midfielder does not seem to hold the same thought and he is determined to return to the Bernabeu after the loan stint with the Gunners. Nonetheless, he should prove an effective addition for the north London side, considering he would offer some of the traits which have been visible through Aaron Ramsey, who has parted ways with the club. The Welshman joined Juventus on a free transfer this month.
