Arsenal manager dismisses speculation linking with Real Madrid goalkeeper

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has dismissed the recent speculation which has linked goalkeeper Keylor Navas with a potential move to the club. The Costa Rica international had recently dropped a transfer hint by saying goodbye to the Real Madrid fans on social media and he has since been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

However, speaking ahead of the FA Cup game against Blackpool, Emery clarified that the speculation is far from true with the club making no contact with the experienced goalkeeper. He added that he is pleased with the current choices between the sticks, he said:"I don't know. We never speak about one goalkeeper because I think - and it's true - we are very happy with the three goalkeepers we have now. We've never spoken about Keylor Navas."

Meanwhile, “the Spanish tactician refused to discuss the future of Aaron Ramsey with the club despite Juventus sporting director Fabricio Paratici“ recently acknowledging that the Bianconeri are on the pursuit of the Welshman, he further told: "I don't know. I want his focus every day with us on training and thinking for the next match, which is against Blackpool. “I am looking at him“ and he's very concentrated with us now. On Tuesday, he scored when he played 15 minutes, and he gave a good performance. I want that from him, and also he needs to [look] at his future."

Arsenal have gone through a difficult festive period where they have struggled to break into the top four and there is still plenty of hope with just three points separating them from fourth-placed Chelsea. Meanwhile, the Gunners are scheduled to face Blackpool in the FA Cup third round on Saturday evening and Emery will be hoping that the team can get the competition off to a bright start unlike last season, where they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
