Bale could be out of action yet again

Real Madrid and Wales face an anxious wait to see if the injury to Gareth Bale on Wednesday night will keep him out for an extended period of time yet again.

The mercurial Welshman suffered a calf injury late on in Real’s brilliant 3-1 win at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. Bale had given arguably his best performance of the season culminated in his brilliant volley which opened the scoring midway through the first half.

Bale has been the subject of increasing scrutiny this season and his place has been under threat with the emergence of the young Spanish sensation, Marco Asensio.
Real boss, Zinedine Zidane, insisted Bale, who has been injured a remarkable SEVENTEEN times since joining Madrid in 2013, was only suffering from “swelling”.
