Ancelotti delighted with Eduardo Camavinga’s recent contribution

After a rough set of few weeks, Real Madrid were able to get a crucial 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in order to keep the deficit to Barcelona at three points. The victory was a big relief for manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has been coming under pressure of late following poor results at the hands of Barcelona and Villarreal in multiple competitions since the return of the club football action. The 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao also completes a difficult set of away matches for the team.

The Los Blancos will be at home for the next three matches and it gives a great opportunity for Ancelotti to even try and overtake Barcelona in the table.

EDER MILITAO AGREES NEW REAL MADRID CONTRACT UNTIL 2028

According to MARCA, Real Madrid and Eder Militao have a full agreement over a new contract for the Brazilian defender that will see him prolong his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2028. Militao arrived at Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Signed from FC Porto in a deal worth €50 million, the Brazilian became the most expensive defender in the history of Los Blancos but endured a difficult debut campaign during which then-manager Zinedine Zidane hardly called upon him.

However, things turned around for Militao from his second year in Spain as Sergio Ramos’ injury issues allowed the Brazilian to cement his place in the side. The 24-year-old built on that and enjoyed another excellent campaign last time out, forging a formidable partnership with David Alaba at the heart of the Real Madrid defence to help them win the La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League.

MBAPPE DOUBTFUL FOR MADRID CLASH

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe is a big doubt ahead of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg clash with Spanish team Real Madrid after he picked up a knock in training. PSG gave an update on the injury sufferedby Real Madrid transfer target Mbappe as it was revealed that the Frenchman suffered a knock to his right foot during training on Monday and has undergone treatment. The statement from the French Ligue 1 leaders further said that another injury update on Mbappe would be delivered on Tuesday.
