EDER MILITAO AGREES NEW REAL MADRID CONTRACT UNTIL 2028

According to MARCA, Real Madrid and Eder Militao have a full agreement over a new contract for the Brazilian defender that will see him prolong his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2028. Militao arrived at Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Signed from FC Porto in a deal worth €50 million, the Brazilian became the most expensive defender in the history of Los Blancos but endured a difficult debut campaign during which then-manager Zinedine Zidane hardly called upon him.

However, things turned around for Militao from his second year in Spain as Sergio Ramos’ injury issues allowed the Brazilian to cement his place in the side. The 24-year-old built on that and enjoyed another excellent campaign last time out, forging a formidable partnership with David Alaba at the heart of the Real Madrid defence to help them win the La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League.

Militao put up some stunning defensive displays over the course of the 2021/22 campaign, which were key to Real Madrid enjoying the success they did. And the reigning Spanish and European champions are ready to reward the Brazilian international with a new and improved contract that reflects his standing within the side. Militao and Real Madrid have been in talks over a new deal for a while now. The 24-year-old was attracting interest from Premier League side Chelsea, but his priority was always to sign a new contract and continue his journey in the Spanish capital.
Now, the two parties have reached an agreement on a new contract which could be announced once Real Madrid return from their pre-season tour. As per the reports, Eder Militao, whose current deal runs until 2025, will sign an extension which will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2028.
