FIVE MADRID PLAYERS OUT FOR ALAVES

Real Madrid will miss up to five players for their Spanish La Liga opener this weekend. Real Madrid will take on Alavesaway from home in their first game of the new Spanish La Liga season.

13-time European champions Real Madrid finished second place in the Spanish La Liga last seasonbehind champions Atletico Madrid. They were displaced as the top team in La Ligaby their city rivals last season.

Real Madrid will start this season with a new manager following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti for his second spell at the club. The Italian tactician was made the new Real Madrid as the replacement for club legend Zinedine Zidane who resigned from the position at the end of last season.

Ancelotti would be hoping to start his second spell at Real Madrid with a win at the home of Alaves but he would be without the services of five players. Real Madrid players Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, Alvaro Odriozola and Dani Ceballos will all miss the away game at Alaves.

German midfielder Kroos will miss the Alaves encounter as a result of a hip injury, while young fullback Odriozolais missing this weekend due to Coronavirus

Spanish international Ceballos sustained an ankle injury while he was on duty for Spain at the just concluded Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and will miss the start of the season. Ceballos has already been ruled out of the Alaves game. Fullbacks Ferland Mendy and Dani Carvajal will miss the La Liga opener with Alavesencounter due to leg and muscle injury respectively.

In addition to the aforementioned five players, Real Madrid also have doubts over attacking talents like Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard. Frenchman Benzema has fitness issues, while Belgian national team skipper Hazard is a doubt due to a hamstring problem.
