Kroos Confirms Real Signing

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has confirmed that he will be joining Real Madrid in the next few days. The future of Kroos has been subjected to much speculation. He was linked with Manchester United several months ago, but Bayern Munich refused to consider him. He has lost 12 months left on his contract. After several weeks of negotiations, it became clear that Kroos was not going to sign a new contract. Hence, Bayern Munich have decided to sell him rather than lose him for nothing.

The 24-year-old was a star for the German national team in the World Cup 2014. He was a major reason behind Germany lifting the World Cup. Now, he is expected to replace his international teammate Sami Khedira in the centre of midfield. Khedira is expected to be sold to Arsenal for around the same € 25 million that Madrid are going to pay for Kroos. Bayern Munich are yet to come out with an official confirmation regarding the future of the player, but they have been saying all along that they would like to keep him at the Allianz Arena.

After winning the World Cup, Kroos confirmed that he will be joining Madrid shortly. His agent, though, said in a contradictory statement that Kroos’ future had not been decided yet. “We’ve finished the World Cup in the best way possible. Now I’m going to Madrid, so that’s two dreams achieved,” said the player after the 1-0 win over Argentina. "It has not yet been decided where Kroos' future lies, I can guarantee that. We'll sit down and decide what's to be done. We will announce his decision either on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning," said the player’s agent, Volker Struth.
However, it is expected that this transfer will go through allowing Arsenal to sign Khedira.
