MADRID BOOST AHEAD OF CRUCIAL CLASH

Real Madrid have been handed a big boost on the defensive front ahead of their crucial Champions League duel with German Bundesliga side Borussia Moenchengladbach in Group B. The Spanish championsare expected to have two of their first choice defenders back for the make-or-break Champions League home game withthe Germans as confirmed by Spanish newspaper AS.


It was disclosed that Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal are expected to be back for the Champions League Group B clash. The final set of games in the various groups will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sergio Ramos and Daniel Carvajal are Spanish internationals. The two players are part of the regular four-man defenceat Real Madrid alongside Raphael Varane and Ferland Mendy. They are set to reunite to prosecute the Borussia Moenchengladbachgame billed for Wednesday night.

Real Madrid skipper Ramos has missed the last five games due to an hamstring problem but he has recovered to lead the team for an important Champions League clash. For DaniCarvajal, the right-back has been missing in action for Real Madrid since he sustained a groin problem at the end of last month. He returned to training on Monday just in time for the Borussia Moenchengladbach match.Serbian international Luka Jovic is also in contention once again after he recovered from Covid-19.
Young Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard will miss the game with a leg injury as he has been pencilled down for tests to ascertain the extent of the injury on Tuesday. Belgian international Eden Hazard will also miss the game with an hamstring problem. Alongside Odegaard and Hazard, striker Mariano Diaz and Federico Valverde will also miss the game with the Germans later this week. Mariano Diazhas a knock, while Uruguayan midfielder Valverdeis still recovering from a leg fracture.
