Real Madrid are keen to sign Frenchman Mbappefor a club-record fee this summer despite the fact thatthe player has less than a year to go on his current deal at the Parc des Princes. Mbappe has informed PSG officials about his desire to sign for Real Madrid and the Spanish team can sign him for free when his contract expires this summer.

French World Cup winnerMbappe had his breakthrough at AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1 before he signed for PSG in the summer of 2017 thus making him the second most expensive player in the world behind club teammate Neymar. PSG paid around €160m to secure his transfer from French top flight rivals AS Monaco. Mbappeinitially joined PSG on loan from Monaco before it was made permanent.
Real Madrid have been very quiet in the transfer window this summer but they would make a big statement if they could pull off a deal for Mbappe though PSG want more than €200m for the player. The Spanish giants have signed just one player this summer. Austrian international David Alaba joined Real Madrid on a free transfer earlier this summer after his contract at German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich expired this summer.Alaba is an utility player who can play in several positions from central midfield to central defence to fullback. The Austrian international spent several years at Bayern Munich and he had a lot of major trophies to show for his time at the Allianz Arena before leaving the club for Real Madrid this summer.
