MADRID SKIPPER RETURNS FOR OSASUNA TRIP

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos will return to the squad ahead of the trip to face Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga this weekend. Sergio Ramos missed the 2-0 win over Celta Vigo the last time out in the league due to a stomach issue and that has cleared up for the Spaniard to return for the Osasuna game on Saturday night. Osasuna have not reached the heights of last season in the Spanish La Liga this term and they face a Real Madrid team with a good recent record.

Real Madrid have won six of their last seven league games ahead of the trip to Osasuna with the only exception coming in the penultimate league game at Elche which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Osasuna are struggling in the bottom places on the Spanish La Liga table ahead of the visit of Real Madrid after a run of nine games without victory. The winless run has condemned Osasuna to second bottom on the log with 14 points from 16 league outings. Osasuna are two points from safety ahead of the Real Madrid game. They have drawn four and lost five games since beating Athletic Bilbao 1-0 at home in October.
Real Madrid are bidding to win the La Liga title for a second season in a row but the biggest threat to making this possible is city rivals Atletico Madrid who have a two-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the standings having played two games less than the Los Merengues. Real Madrid could be five points adrift of Atletico Madrid by the time they face Osasuna on Saturday evening with Atletico Madrid in action earlier on Saturday. Atletico Madrid play hosts to Athletic Bilbao at the new Wanda Metropolitano Stadium with the target to get the win that will take them five points clear of Real Madrid.
