Real Madrid Being Inconsistent with Performance

Real Madrid is having a stop-start season and hasn't been able to settle into a rhythm lately. There were hopes that their 5-2 victory over Liverpool at Anfield would set the stage for a solid finish to the season. However, subsequent performances include a 1-1 draw with 10-man Atletico Madrid and a 1-0 loss to an injury-plagued Barcelona team. Additionally, both matches were held at Santiago Bernabeu. That is undoubtedly cause for concern.

This season, Real Madrid is still competing in all three major competitions. However, none of them have them as a favorite. Benzema is one player whose performance mirrors that of the club. The Frenchman gave an outstanding performance at Anfield but was terrible against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Throughout the season, he has struggled with fitness issues, preventing him from gaining momentum. Relevo also reported that Benzema's apathy baffles the club and coach because they believe he is thinking elsewhere.

Real Madrid Active in This Transfer Window

Real Madrid is said to be interested in signing some of the most talented players in the world, including Palmeiras starlet Endrick. Moreover, one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Real Madrid like to do quick business and will be looking to do the same during the upcoming transfer window. The club has already agreed on a deal with the Brazilian side to sign Endrick, who will arrive in Madrid in 2024.

Meanwhile, rising stars such as Alphonso Davies and Jude Bellingham are being heavily linked with moves to Santiago Bernabeu. This has led to fans being excited about the possibility of upcoming transfers into the club. With the fight to become the champions of La Liga already in full swing, Real Madrid would need some more additions to the squad. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is another exciting prospect on this list.

REAL MADRID SET SIGHTS ON JOAO GOMES AS POTENTIAL CASEMIRO REPLACEMENT

According to a report by Defensa Central, Joao Gomes is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible move, either this week or in the 2023 summer transfer window. The 21-year-old midfielder has emerged as a candidate to be Casemiro’s long-term replacement at the Santiago Bernabeu. Casemiro was a long-term asset for Real Madrid before joining Manchester United earlier this summer. The Brazilian midfielder had forged a formidable central midfield partnership with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric that served Real Madrid brilliantly for several years before his departure.

But Casemiro has now left a gaping hole in the Real Madrid midfield unit, even though Aurelien Tchouameni is a highly-rated midfielder who can be his successor. However, that is not stopping Real Madrid from possibly filling his spot in the squad with another quality Brazilian midfielder. Joao Gomes has popped up on Real Madrid’s radar over a possible late move in the ongoing transfer window. But there is a chance that Real Madrid might put off pursuing the 21-year-old until the 2023 summer transfer window, with Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez have repeatedly insisted that Los Blancos will not sign another player this summer.

BORJA MAYORAL WANTS TO STAY AT REAL MADRID, CLAIMS HIS AGENT

Speaking to COPE (h/t MARCA), Alejandro Camano, the agent of Spanish striker Borja Mayoral, has claimed that the forward has no desire to leave Real Madrid this summer despite links to Getafe. Mayoral is back at Real Madrid after spending the last two seasons away on loan. The striker enjoyed a solid spell at AS Roma in 2020/21 but failed to play regularly in the Italian capital in the first half of the 2021/2 campaign. As a result, he was sent on loan to Getafe for the second half of the previous campaign, where he impressed heavily.

Back at Real Madrid, Mayoral is in the final year of his contract with Los Blancos, and there have been a lot of speculations over his future. The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a permanent move to Getafe, with recent reports stating that the Spaniard was closing in on a move to the Azulones. However, his agent has now refuted those claims, stating that Mayoral is determined to stay at Real Madrid and further his career at his boyhood club after having spent several seasons away on loan.

EDER MILITAO AGREES NEW REAL MADRID CONTRACT UNTIL 2028

According to MARCA, Real Madrid and Eder Militao have a full agreement over a new contract for the Brazilian defender that will see him prolong his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2028. Militao arrived at Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Signed from FC Porto in a deal worth €50 million, the Brazilian became the most expensive defender in the history of Los Blancos but endured a difficult debut campaign during which then-manager Zinedine Zidane hardly called upon him.

However, things turned around for Militao from his second year in Spain as Sergio Ramos’ injury issues allowed the Brazilian to cement his place in the side. The 24-year-old built on that and enjoyed another excellent campaign last time out, forging a formidable partnership with David Alaba at the heart of the Real Madrid defence to help them win the La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League.
