Brunt To Continue Captincy

Chris Brunt is going to continue captaining West Bromwich Albion. The new boss Alan Irvine confirmed that yesterday.
West Brom has changed managers quite a lot in the last few seasons, but, there’s been no change in captaincy. Brunt has been leading the side for the last three years and he will have the armband during the 2014-15 Season too.
According to Irvine, there is no point replacing Brunt as skipper at the moment. He has been pretty good at that position in the recent times. Also, he is a unanimously respected figure in the dressing room.

Kroos Confirms Real Signing

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has confirmed that he will be joining Real Madrid in the next few days. The future of Kroos has been subjected to much speculation. He was linked with Manchester United several months ago, but Bayern Munich refused to consider him. He has lost 12 months left on his contract. After several weeks of negotiations, it became clear that Kroos was not going to sign a new contract. Hence, Bayern Munich have decided to sell him rather than lose him for nothing.

Morata a Target For Arsenal And Juventus

Ancelotti Turns Down United Management Deal

Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly turned down an £ 18 million offer to become the manager of Manchester United. This would have made him the highest-paid manager in the world. Ancelotti has always been one of the top names to be linked with every major club whenever there has been a vacancy. Despite being just a decade into his managerial career, he has already overseen spells with AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris St Germain and Real Madrid. Due to his pedigree and experience in the Premier League, Ancelotti was reportedly a target for United.

Real Madrid has always been known to be as one of those clubs which are willing to offload huge amounts of cash in order to sign players. This is the case with C.Ronaldo and Gareth Bale as the Spanish club had to pay around €185 million in order to secure their services.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has entered for the first time that the club may try and sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba in the summer. The former Manchester United man has been one of the most sought-after players in Europe over the last few years.

There has been widespread speculation that Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas will leave the club at the end of the season after losing his first-team spot to Diego Lopez. The Spaniard lost his place when the club was under Jose Mourinho’s management.

He was expected to get back into the first team after the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti, but that has not happened. The Italian has been only using the goalkeeper in European matches. As result, he is in danger of losing his Spain national team place. Lopez has been used as the goalkeeper for league matches.

Xabi Alonso was rumored to be a high profile target of many top European clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United. Jose Mourinho has already worked with the Spanish midfielder and it was believed that the Portuguese was interested in working once more with Alonso.

Manchester United on the other hand have been going through an underperforming campaign and one of the areas that needs most improvements is in the midfield which is why Alonso would have been a great option for Moyes to try and sign.

Ancelotti denies Andrea Pirlo and Xabi Alonso swap

Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti is not looking for any trade with Italians. He has already rejected any probability of a swap contract with Italian giants Juventus that would have seen Xabi Alonso going to Turin while Andrea Pirlo coming to Real Madrid.

Earlier there were some speculation regarding the future of both footballers and it intensified recently as both players are near the end of their contract with their respective teams. Ancelotti has earlier worked with both Andrea Pirlo and Xabi Alonso when they were all in AC Milan.

After the sale of German playmaker Mesut Ozil, Real Madrid have come in for a lot of criticism from various quarters. The 24-year-old midfielder was one of the best players of the Madrid team, but he was sold by the club in order to raise the money to bring in Gareth Bale.

The Wales international has cost the Spanish club £ 86 million in transfer fees. Ozil has been one of the best playmakers in the world over the last five years. He has been a major reason behind Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the goals that he has done since moving to Madrid in 2009.
