Sergio Ramos open to Paul Pogba joining Real Madrid

Real
Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has hailed the qualities of Manchester United
midfielder Paul Pogba and said that the door is open for the Frenchman to join
the La Liga giants. The France international was touted to join Los Blancos
during this summer’s transfer window but unfortunately, the club could not
strike a suitable deal with the Red Devils.

As a
result, Pogba has been fancied to stay put with the Red Devils until next
summer but there remains the speculation regarding his future. Speaking to
Express Sport, Ramos told that Pogba has the credentials to play for Los
Blancos and highlighted the midfielder’s ability to balance his game on both
ends of the field.

He said: “I
think Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him. For
me, Pogba is one of the great players. He is different and he has shown his
value at Juventus and now Manchester United. I think he brings balance to a
team. He has a great offensive influence and he has this amazing physique.”

Pogba made a terrific beginning to the season with a couple of assists during the 4-0 triumph over Chelsea. However, he has since struggled to make a meaningful contribution and that has already led to criticism from a section of the supporters. Nonetheless, the club have no plans of parting ways with the former Juventus man and reports have emerged that they could even propose a new contract to the midfielder.

Pogba will most likely snub the advances due to the ambition of joining Los Blancos and next summer seems the ideal moment for the transfer to go through. The Frenchman has less than two years remaining on his current contract with the Red Devils but the club have the option of keeping him for another 12 months through an extension clause.
